Shein India donates one lakh surgical masks

Fast fashion retailer Shein’s India division has donated one lakh three-ply surgical masks to Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital in Mumbai to aid the fight against coronavirus.

As hospitals across India struggle with a lack of personal protective equipment including face masks, Shein has donated 100,000 masks to a Mumbai hospital, it announced on Facebook. Maharashtra has seen the highest numbers of conformed Covid-19 cases across India which has put a strain on the state’s medical system.
 
“We feel it is important to do our best to protect the healthcare workers on the front lines of the outbreak,” Shein announced on Facebook, sharing photos of its team delivering the masks on April 3. “By supporting each other, we will overcome these difficult times… Please stay safe and stay strong!” 

The masks were distributed to health workers at the hospital and the brand plans to distribute more masks in the near future.
 
The online retailer has also shared a range of myth-busting tips about coronavirus as well as health and safely tips on its Facebook page. The e-commerce retailer plans to resume delivery of clothing and accessories after the lockdown ends.
