Luxury fashion brand Shantnu Nikhil, formerly Shantanu & Nikhil, has launched a new casual wear brand named Shantnu Nikhil Cricket Club. The new bridge-to-luxury label is inspired by India’s love of cricket and modern sports style.

New men’s and women’s clothing accessories brand Shantnu Nikhil Cricket Club, also referred to as SNCC, has launched its first ever collection of clothing, footwear, and accessories. The brand’s offering will retail across S&N Shantnu Nikhil stores and on its e-commerce website from November 20, the brand announced on Facebook.
“Like most Indians, our core childhood memories come from the friendly cricket matches we played in the parks of our residential colonies and school,” Shantnu Nikhil announced on Facebook to launch the new brand. “There was always a whirlwind of emotion in every ball thrown, every catch missed and every wicket fallen. This very emotion of nostalgia not only unites the nation together still but has also become the spirit of our pride. Even after all these years, sport as a medium has had an incredible impact on how we carved our design career, and it has been one of the stronger virtues of our design philosophy. Shantnu Nikhil Cricket Club is a long-awaited dream, inspired by our love for cricket and a vision to connect the sport to a lifestyle promise. With SNCC, we are proud to present a new fashion vocabulary that represents a vision of modern everyday dressing injected with a jolt of much needed youthful swagger.”
The line launched its first collection with a photoshoot starring young cricket player Shubman Gill. The line mixes striped tops with preppy knitwear, more streetwear inspired tracksuits, and smart casual separates including shirts, jackets, and chinos. The brand’s logo features a cricket player and a brand crest is one of the new signatures for the label.
“As designers, it’s our duty to evoke expression via the art we master in,” designers Shantanu Mehra and Nikhil Mehra told Vogue India about the new brand. “Fashion has always been a part of sports, we’ve just steered away from the conventional route of sportswear and ventured into a direction none of the Indian designers have taken yet.”
