Shantanu & Nikhil opens new couture flagship store in New Delhi

Design duo Shantanu and Nikhil have opened a flagship store in Mehrauli, New Delhi to house their brand’s couture line and modern take on traditional occasion wear. 

Shantanu & Nikhil’s spacious new retail location launched with an opera performance by Pallavi Sethi, Elle India reported. The store celebrates, “modernity and minimalism,” and is located at luxury shopping destination One Style Mile, the brand announced on Facebook. The store is the brand’s sixth in India and third in the New Delhi region. 
 
“The idea behind Shantnu & Nikhil’s new store follows the narrative of an artist coming home, living right in the middle of history; a tale of him inviting his friends to his home to witness his work and lastly, to reflect a place where the artist’s best work sits quietly to be spoken about and adorned by everyone who loves the brand,” the design duo told Elle India in an interview. “It creates spaces that bridge time, connect you to your past and your possibilities, to explore and experience within a space of calm and flow– to be all of you!”

The store houses the brand’s menswear and womenswear lines including its new line of “anti-trend” wedding wear designed to be a modern, timeless take on traditional occasion wear garments. The menswear segment features draped kurtas, ‘neo-sherwanis’, and bandhgalas while the womenswear segment features cocktail gowns and ‘neo-lehengas’.
