The Shanghai Fashion Week has multiplied its connections in order to strengthen and gain in international visibility. On the occasion of the Week's 14th edition, the organisers have announced in a press release the signing of a collaboration agreement with the French Fashion Federation and the Italian National Fashion Chamber (CNMI).

The agreement was underwritten during the International Fashion Forum by Chen Ying, the Vice-President of Shangtex group, which controls the Shanghai Fashion Week, by Pascal Morand, the Executive President of the French Federation of Fashion and of Ready-to-Wear Couturiers and Fashion Designers, and by Carlo Capasa, President of CNMI.

In recent years, the fashion week's organisers had already signed cooperation agreements with the British Fashion Council and the Italian institution. With this new partnership, they strengthened their relationships with the leading European fashion weeks.

The press release underlined how the objective is to "encourage dialogue between young designers and share information among the world's leading fashion manufacturers."

As part of this closer connection, young French and Italian designers may be hosted at the M50 centre, which brings together a series of art galleries and multi-brand stores in the heart of Shanghai.

Other initiatives, designed to promote French and Italian brands in China during the Shanghai Fashion Week, are also being evaluated.
