Shaadi Sakhi's Pehnawa fair kicks off in Thane

Business-to-customer shopping fair Shaadi Sakhi launched its Pehnawa fashion exhibition in Thane, Mumbai on September 23. The festive themed event is designed to bring together a range of womenswear brands and takes place at the city’s Hotel Tip Top Plaza, the event organisers announced on Facebook.

Running until September 24, Pehnawa features product categories including women’s ethnic wear, traditional wear, occasion wear, bridal wear, and fusion wear as well as accessories, jewellery, handbags, gift items, and lifestyle goods among others. Participating brands are positioned in bridge-to-luxury segment of the market and the event aims to draw a crowd of premium millennial shoppers.  
 
“This two day shopping event aims to bring together multiple fashion, lifestyle, creative and best brands under one roof for our very elite shoppers,” the event organisers announced on Facebook as the event launched on Friday.  

With a focus on small and medium enterprises, event organiser Shaadi Sakhi aims to promote local labels and give them a metro-based platform from which to connect with new shoppers. The event is also designed to promote entrepreneurs and Indian craftsmanship.
