Seraphine partners with Kay Kay Clothing for Indian entry

International fashion maternity wear brand Seraphine has entered into an exclusive franchise agreement with Kay Kay Clothing LLP for its foray into the Indian market.
 


The brand will set up its first store in the national capital Delhi in August and will be expanding across the country over the next 3 years. The brand has set a target of 10 company-owned and sub-franchised outlets by 2020.
 
Apart from offline expansion, the brand will also tap the booming online market through partnerships with e-commerce firms and plans to launch its own portal in the coming months to boost sales in the country.

"Seraphine is entering India with its first store in Delhi in August. We plan to stores in key cities in India such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in the next 3 years. We also want to open outlets in tier II cities through sub-franchise agreement," Kay Kay Clothing LLP Director Rajat Kapoor was quoted as saying by PTI.
 
"Seraphine's global website already gets orders from India, so once we start our own India portal, we expect good traction for the brand through online channel," he added.
 
Seraphine will price its products between Rs 1500 (approx $25) to Rs 15000 (approx $250) in India. Séraphine, was created in London in 2002 by Cécile Reinaud and currently has stores in cities like London, Paris, New York, Dubai and Hong Kong.
 
Claudia Schiffer, Shakira, Kate Middleton, Jessica Alba, Gwen Stefani and Anne Hathaway are some of the celebrities who have worn the brand's pieces during their pregnancy.
