Sephora expands India presence with store in Indore

French global beauty retailer Sephora has strengthened its retail footprint in the Indian market with the opening of its first store in the city of Indore.
 

The new store is located at the Treasure Island Mall and will house the retailer’s in-house and exclusive range across make-up, skin-care, fragrances, bath and body categories as well as beauty accessories.
 
“Sephora continues to redefine the beauty experience mold in Indore. The store design and intimate format fosters personalized connections between our customers and our brands. We welcome Indore to the world’s biggest beauty revolution to try, buy and witness the Sephora experience,” Vivek Bali, CEO at Sephora India said in a statement.

As India’s beauty market goes from strength to strength, Sephora is looking to expand in all of the country’s key markets. The brand has between six and eight store openings planned for the remainder of the calendar year.
 
The brand has found that, although metros make up 60 percent of sales, 40 percent of sales come from Tier 2 and 3 cities. The brand is therefore looking to enter both metros and non-metros.
