Charity Seams for Dreams will hold its sixth Garage Sale in Mumbai on December 14 to raise funds for a number of NGOs and promote second hand fashion.

Seams for Dreams will collect clothing donated by celebrities, designers, influencers, stylists, editors, and socialites and then sell them at its Garage Sale event in December. The funds raised from the pop-up sale will be donated to a number of NGOs, according to the event’s press release.

Well-known names that have participated in previous editions of the event include Rocky S, Yasmin Karachiwala, Sophie Choudry, and Ami Patel. The aim of the pop-up is to give the public a chance to shop high quality second hand clothing whilst raising money for charity.

Entrepreneur Evelyn Sharma founded Seams for Dreams to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and raise funds for various charitable projects. One of Sharma’s main initiatives is to raise awareness about the amount of water used by the fashion industry and its polluting effects on the environment.

Seams for Dreams has donated around 40,000 items of clothing to date and held five previous editions of its Garage Sale event. The organisation also collaborates with a fashion academy each year to create a collection of up-cycled clothing. This year, Seams for Dreams partnered with FAD in Mumbai for the initiative.
