The Saras Ajeevika Mela will feature 250 stalls from 27 Indian states to showcase handmade fashion and lifestyle goods among others. The exhibition will take place in Gurugram in the Leisure Valley ground in Sector 29, the event organisers announced in a statement.

“The purpose of the Saras Mela is to provide a platform to showcase rural arts and crafts products made by women self-help groups (SHGs) under various government schemes,” said the rural development ministry’s additional secretary Charanjit Singh at a press conference, the Hindustan Times reported.

The event will also include workshops on a number of art and craft techniques to help participating women learn new skills to elevate their work. A food court will feature 30 stalls and offer cuisines from across India. Women from different parts of the country can also come together to share their experiences and knowledge.

The Saras Ajeevika Mela has previously taken place in Delhi, Noida, and Faridabad and is supported by the government’s rural development ministry. The fair also includes cultural performances, digital marketing sessions, and networking sessions.
