Santoor launches “pocket perfumes” line as West Bengal exclusive

Santoor has launched a new “pocket perfume” product category as a West Bengal exclusive as the business looks to tap into India’s deodorant category which it believes has high potential for growth.

The brand launched the new pocket perfume product line on Wednesday. Tailored to women, the line comes in three different scents retailing at Rs 65 ($0.90) per pack. The brand had launched a similar range of deodorants in 2013 and has used some of the scents for its pocket perfume line. 

"Deodorant is a Rs 2700 crore urban category in India (Nielsen 18-19), with pocket perfume making up 10% of the portfolio,” said Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting’s vice president for marketing, S Prasanna Rai, as reported by ET Bureau. “At Wipro Consumer Care, we are bullish about this segment and are delighted to launch our latest offering in West Bengal."

Santoor is the flagship fast moving consumer goods brand of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting and also retails soaps, talcum powder, face wash, and liquid soap among other products. Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting has a presence in India, the Middle East, and South East Asia.
