On October 12, Sameer Madan presented his latest womenswear collection on the runway in New Delhi in a joint showcase with other young designers Bareek, Countrymade, and Notebook as part of LMIFW. Madan’s collection gave a nod to the 1980s with broad shoulders and statement blazers sand presented a strong yet feminine aesthetic.
The collection’s colour palette included mustard yellow, red, brown, lavender, and burgundy and textiles included satin and chiffon. Accessories included jewellery made from potpourri dried flowers incased in resin and handcrafted beads, according to the brand’s press release.
LMIFW’s Young Guns joint presentation was the Fashion Design Council of India’s initiative to promote upcoming design talent to a wider audience. Bareek showcased sustainable menswear, Countrymade presented dark hued menswear with nature inspired motifs, and Notebook showcased futuristically elegant womenswear.
Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week ran from October 9 to 13 in New Delhi and was organised by the FDCI in collaboration with EbixCash. The fashion week runs twice a year and this season’s theme was “My Fashion My Tribe”.
