Chauhan’s womenswear collection’s tailoring hinted at Japanese inspirations with deconstructed elements and sculptural black shapes. The colour palette of white, black, and florals cast a striking silhouette on the runway and Victorian-esque high-neck cuts mixed with more romantic, loose fitted garments.

Notable pieces included a voluminous black shirt paired with slim fit, floral embroidered black trousers, a floor length eventing coat, and a kimono-esque white wrap dress. Models sported sculptural black fascinators which added a vintage touch and makeup was kept simple and glamorous with hair slicked back into a bun.

Samant Chauhan launched his eponymous brand in 2004 and has since become known for exploring and promoting Bhagalpur weaving techniques. The brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store and also has a store in New Delhi and in Mumbai.

Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week is a twice yearly fashion week organised by the Fashion Design Council of India. The event began on October 9 and will run until October 13 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at India Gate in New Delhi. This season, the fashion week’s theme is “My Fashion My Tribe”.
