Saks names Thomas Ott Chief Merchant of Saks Off 5th, Gilt

Saks Fifth Avenue announced this week the appointment of Tom Ott to Chief Merchant of Saks Off 5th and Gilt. He succeeds Kristen Sosa, who was named Chief Merchant of Olivela on Monday.

Ott has been with Saks since 1995, when he joined the company and served as SVP, General Merchandise Manager of Men’s, Gifts and Home. He climbed the ranks and served as Divisional Merchandise Manager in 2000, General Merchandise Manager in 2008, and finally SVP, General Merchandise Manager of Men’s and Concession. In addition, Ott received the Alan Grossman Achievement Award from Saks in 2008.
 
Prior to joining the luxury retailer, Ott served as a buyer at Lord & Taylor for five years and Merchandising Vice President of Midwestern off price company Gentry Shops for two years.

Saks Off 5th this year opened locations in Canada in Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta and opened its first location in Germany.
