Sabyasachi launches bridal collection exclusively on Instagram

At 9pm on February 18, Sabyasachi Mukherjee launched his latest heritage bridal wear collection ‘Sultana’ exclusively on Instagram, as the designer continues to embrace digital launches.

Sabyasachi’s latest collection launched on Tuesday with an exclusive video and photo campaign in time for the spring wedding season. Eschewing traditional collection launch events, the digital showcase of the Sultana collection featured pastel and ivory hues, multiple layers of fine embellishments, and a soft, romantic aesthetic.

Blush pinks, turmeric yellows, and aquamarines also made an appearance. Mukherjee described the collection as “modern hand-woven and embroidered masterpieces,” on Facebook, and paired ensembles with new designs from his Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection.

The designer, known for his opulent bridal wear, will soon launch the ninth season of his bridal themed reality show 'Band Baajaa Bride' on February 23, where he transforms brides-to-be into Sabyasachi brides for their big day. The show will air with Goodtimes in India, as well as in five other countries.   
 
Sabyasachi Mukherjee will also launch a collaborative collection with Swedish apparel retailer H&M this spring and plans to open his first U.S. store later in the year. The designer launched his eponymous brand in 1999 and now has five flagship stores across India, according to the brand’s website.
