Sabyasachi collaborates with Christian Louboutin for ‘Kashgaar Bazaar’ collection

Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee celebrated his 20 years in the fashion industry by collaborating with French fashion label Christian Louboutin for an exclusive collection of shoes and handbags.
 

The collection was showcased with a fashion show in the city of Mumbai with leading Bollywood actors like Alia Bhatt, Aditi Rao Hydari and Janhvi Kapoor participating in the event.
 
The 45-year-old designer has drawn inspiration from his first collection ‘Kashgaar Bazaar’ and plans to take it to a global audience through the partnership with Christian Louboutin.

Commenting on the collection and his 20 years in the fashion industry, Sabyasachi Mukherjee in a statement said: "In the summer of 1999, I graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Calcutta. My graduation collection was called Kashgaar Bazaar - inspired by global nomads, gypsies, prostitutes, performing artists and my imagination of the Silk Route.”
 
"In 2019, as I celebrate 20 years of the brand, I present Kashgaar Bazaar to my global audience. Drawing inspiration from my first design collection - Kashgaar Bazaar - this collaboration explores the conflict between cultures, colours, textiles, and crafts. Under the overarching theme of rustic baroque, the entire collection is a patchwork of different textile influences derived from the Silk Route,” he added.
 
The two designers had first come together for their debut collaborative line 'Bater', which was launched in July 2015. Since then they have collaborated to launch a new collection every year.
