Saaj by Ankita showcases classic traditional wear at India Runway Week digital

Womenswear brand Saaj by Ankita presented an opulent, feminine vision of traditional wear at the second digital edition of India Runway Week on Tuesday.

 
Saaj by Ankita’s latest collection, inspired by the purity of love, was brimming with sparkle, pastel hues, and opulent embellishments. The collection showcase was broadcast live on Instagram on Tuesday enabling anyone on the social media platform to view the show from home.
 
“We are very exciting to be showcasing our collection at India Runway Week virtual edition,” said designer Ankita in a video for India Runway Week. “The whole world is a bit uncertain right now but through this uncertainty, the one thing you can always depend on is love and on the special day when two people come together in their expression of love we want their ensembles to reciprocate the same feeling of pure, pristine, and magical love. Our collection takes inspiration from this very thing and I hope you enjoy it.”

Pastel hued lehengas and gowns were adorned with long beaded tassels, feathers, and copious amounts of glitter. Models wore classically glamorous hair and makeup and statement traditional jewellery.
 
NIFT graduate Ankita launched Saaj by Ankita in 2005. The brand currently has a flagship store in New Delhi and retails from over 40 multi-brand stores across India as well as abroad in locations including the UAE, Turkey, the US, and UK.
