SME sellers witness strong growth during Amazon’s ‘Small Business Days’

E-commerce major Amazon India said that small and medium sellers (SME) on its platform witnessed strong growth during its three-day ‘Small Business Days’ event.

Around 84,000 SME sellers received orders during the sale event with 68 percent of these sellers coming from tier 2, 3, 4 cities, and beyond.
 
The company claimed that the number of sellers who grossed over Rs 1 crore ($134,244) in sales increased six-times during this edition, as against December 2020 event.

Commenting on the sale event, Pranav Bhasin, director of MSME and selling partner experience at Amazon India, in a statement said: “We hosted Amazon Small Business Days and extended the event from a single day to three days to help generate more business for our sellers and help them bounce back. We are humbled by the customer response to the event as 84,000 plus sellers, including 1,700 small local offline shops, received at least one order during the event.”
 
Amazon India, which has around 8 lakh sellers on its marketplace, hosted the sale event to help sellers to bounce back from Covid-related disruptions.
