Located near Bengaluru International Airport, the upcoming SAP campus will measure a substantial 40 acres, twice the size of its Whitefield campus, according to the business’ executive board member Bernd Leukert who visited Bengaluru. Leukert came to the city last week to celebrate the business’ twentieth anniversary in India as reported by TNN.

A ground breaking ceremony for the campus was held on Thursday, November 29. On this occasion, the business’ India managing director, Dilipkumar Khandelwal, announced that construction will begin when the government approves the building plans.

SAP aims to triple its market in India with the creation of this new campus. The German enterprise software company has 11,000 employees in India and 7,500 of those employees work in R&D. although no figures have been given for planned hiring following the campus’ completion, Khandelwal stated that the business has hired around 1,000 employees per year for the past five years.

One of SAP India’s main products is a fashion management solution that allows fashion brands to keep up to date with not just the two main seasons in the year but also with mid-season changes that are becoming more and more important in the fashion market. SAP India worked with Luxottica and Armani among others to develop the product. According to Leukert, the product is now a “default solution for how fashion companies steer their business”.
