Sistema Jsfc, one of Russia’s largest conglomerates, is currently rolling out an expansion of the Acoola brand in India in association with the Indian Saamag Group. Concept Group, part of the Sistema business, is directly responsible for brand’s Indian expansion.

When the brand’s first retail outlet opened in Logix City Centre Mall, Noida, Concept Group’s CEO, Emin Rustamov, said: “We are excited to bring Acoola to India. With over 260 Acoola stores already operational in Russia, the company has now drawn extensive plans to go international, with India being one of the key markets for the brand. Our plan is to open at least ten stores in India over the next one year.”

The group is now on the way to achieving this goal with their second Indian store opening in the capital. Other launches for the near future include Mumbai and Benglauru. According to Dinesh Pandey, Chairman of the Saamag Group, the Acoola brand’s focus will be children aged between two and 14 years and clothing for summer weather made from natural fabrics. Insulated items will be available for winter months later in the year and Pandey said that collections will be developed especially for the Indian market in the future.

The Sistema owned Concept Group owns a 49 percent stake in Acoola’s Indian retail expansion and the Saamag Group owns 51 percent.
