Rupa & Company Q1 net profit drops 10 percent to Rs 9 crore

Rupa & Company Limited net profit for the first quarter ended June 2019 dropped by 10 percent to Rs 9 crore ($1.3 million), as against Rs 10 crore it had reported in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

The company’s revenue for the April-June period rose by 3 percent to Rs 188 crore, as compared to Rs 183 crore it had posted in the year-ago period.
 
EBITDA of the company for the quarter was at Rs 22 crore up 2 percent, from Rs 22.04 crore it had reported in the previous fiscal year.
 
Rupa & Company Limited is one of the largest knitwear brands in India that produces innerwear, casual wear, thermal wear, and sleepwear for men, women, and kids.
 
The company will be expanding its product portfolio, especially in the women’s category and will be entering the lucrative women’s lingerie segment later this year. It expects 10 percent growth in turnover in 2019-20.
