Rupa & Co Q2 net profit rises 17 percent to Rs 53 crore

India’s leading knitwear firm Rupa & Company Limited posted a 17 percent increase in net profit at Rs 53 crore ($7.2 million) during the quarter ended September, as against Rs 45 crore it posted in the year-ago period.
The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 21 percent to Rs 365 crore, as against Rs 303 crore it reported in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Commenting on the Q2 results, Dinesh Kumar Lodha, CEO of Rupa & Co, in a statement said: “Despite the challenges faced during the first half of the year, the Company has remained resilient, and revenues have grown by 14 percent to Rs 586 crore. We have seen improved traction during the festive season, and we expect a much better second half of the year.”
“The company is focusing on increasing sales volumes with changes in product mix. We have always been committed to our long-term goal of providing the highest level of consumer satisfaction with our products and brands and we are confident of achieving robust operational and financial performance going ahead,” he added.
Rupa & Company Limited is one of the largest knitwear brands in India that produces innerwear, casual wear, thermal wear, and sleepwear for men, women, and kids.
