Roma Narsinghani has collaborated with non-profit organisation Rehwa to launch a 17-piece saree line for the jewellery designer’s first foray into clothing design. The saree line, named Rehwa x Roma, is also accompanied by a complimentary jewellery collection.

“Foraying into the designing segment for the first time, Roma proudly fashions 17 exquisitely woven contemporary saris and complementing geometric jewellery pieces in collaboration with Rehwa society,” announced the brand in a press release. “The essence of the jewellery pieces that Roma conceptualised has a bold and feminine vibe. The true aesthetic of this collection has a raw and fresh charm... Each sartorial piece displays rich gold hues that stay dominant in the colour palette.”

Sarees in the collection feature minimal embellishment to let the textiles themselves stand out. The saree borders are inspired by temples, in line with Narsinghani’s architectural influence on her conceptual jewellery line. The line’s colour palette colour blocks hues of cherry red and yellow in some designs and cooler tones of beige and powder pink in others.

The sarees are made by weavers in Maheshwar, Indore, which the royal family of Maheshwar’s organisation Rehwa works to support. Jewellery in the collection is inspired by the architecture of the historic Ahilya Fort and features Roma Narsinghani’s signature hair bun cage as well as geometric statement earrings and chains. The collection has launched for the festive season and the brand retails from its dedicated e-commerce store.
