River Island creates new role to boost customer service

British retailer River Island has promoted Josie Roscop, former Marketing Director, to the role of Customer Director - a newly created job that will build on the customer engagement elements of her previous position.

“Josie’s excellent knowledge of our customers will greatly support River Island’s ongoing mission to make sure that our customers have the best possible experience at all points in their journey with us,“ said River Island CEO, Ben Lewis, on the appointment.

The company’s announcement reflects its increasing focus on engaging with customers across all product divisions and channels. River Island has over 350 stores across the UK, Ireland and internationally throughout Asia, the Middle East and Europe, and operates six dedicated online sites in four currencies.

The Customer Director will focus on establishing metrics for understanding relationships with customers across all customer touch points, as well as creating new strategies for the customer engagement and experience.

Josie Roscop, Customer Director, said: “I am excited to start my new role as Customer Director at River Island. My aim is to ensure that we offer a fantastic customer experience in store and online, and that our customers are always at the centre of everything we do.”
