Ritu Kumar to open flagship store in Bandra, Mumbai

Ritu Kumar is opening a new Mumbai flagship store for her brand Label Ritu Kumar in the city’s Bandra district. The store will be the designer’s fourth in the city.

The new Label Ritu Kumar store will measure 905 square feet and is located on Linking Road in Bandra, Mumbai. The black store front with gold lettering reflects the opulent aesthetic of the brand and this is contrasted with more rustic elements within such as exposed brickwork and industrial style fittings.

The store launches with Kumar’s autumn/ winter 2018 collection “Just Dance”. The collection is inspired by dance, hip hop, and urban culture. The collection has a sportswear touch and features bold prints and metallics.

Along with Kumar’s ready-to-wear, the store houses the designer's latest product launch, a jewellery collection in collaboration with the Mumbai-based jewellery brand Rhea Jewellery. The bold costume jewellery is displayed front and centre in store illuminated by bright overhead lighting.

“Mumbai has been a strong hold for Label Ritu Kumar since the brand’s inception, and the new Linking Road store is something we’re all excited for,” Amrish Kumar, the brand’s CEO, told Vogue India. “The brand is at home here and we’re looking forward to be known as the go-to brand for the city’s fashion followers.”
