The showcase was designed to spark conversation around sustainability and showcase designers who are adding a unique perspective to the discourse. Divyam Mehta presented and menswear and womenswear collection which took its inspiration from the traditional garments of the Dongria Kondh tribe. Black textiles with white embroidered dot-style patterns looked modern, brining the knowledge of centuries-old traditions to the modern consumer. Suits for men and draped sets for women were paired with traditional-style nose piercings and punk style lip rings.

Ka-sha’s take on circular fashion was a series of casual yet immaculately woven kurta style sets inspired by the nature of water. The collection was named ‘Manthan’ and notable looks included slim-fit kurtas layered with jackets in brown and white stripes.

Nitin Bal Chauhan’s collection ‘Countdown’ was as darkly conceptual as ever and was designed to raise awareness about how current non-sustainable growth is swiftly leading the planet to a point of no return. Addressing the issues of climate change with embellished, tailored jackets and Avant Garde gowns, the collection told a troubling story through beautiful garments.
