The Lakme Absolute Grand Finale featured two brands known for their experimental take on traditional crafts and aesthetics: Rimzim Dadu and Saaksha & Kinni. The two brands both presented collections that transformed traditional aesthetics, but each took a very different route with Rimzim Dadu’s collection being sleek and futuristic, and Saaksha & Kinni’s collection eclectic and joyful.

Rimzim Dadu’s collection featured the designer’s sculptural signature saree made from metal thread. This season, the saree came in colours of emerald green and silver and featured striped panels, textiles made of conjoined circles, and ribbon-esque strips.

Thakur’s showstopper look to finish the collection was a futuristic silver lehenga with one shoulder blouse.

Saaksha & Kinni’s collection ‘Gor’ was inspired by nomadic peoples of India and featured bright, mixed prints, wearable garments such as shorts, dresses, and blouses, and rustic style embroidery with mirror details. Thakur’s showstopper look was a patchwork style button down shirt and ruffle skirt with thigh-high slit.

Rimzim Dadu founded her eponymous brand in 2007 and retails in India, the U.S., the UK, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. The brand is based in Noida and also retails from its dedicated e-commerce store.

Saaksha Bhat and Kinnari Kamat launched Saaksha & Kinni to present their own, vibrant take on traditional heritage crafts. The brand retails from its e-commerce store, where it launched its new collection Gor straight after the digital showcase.
