Rimi Nayak’s new collaborative collection with Liva is bold, bright, and resort-inspired with a vintage twist. The designer teamed up with the textiles business to respond to the increasing demand for sustainable fashion and created a line full of work-from-home appropriate looks with some more formal pieces in the mix. The line retails from the brand’s dedicated e-commerce store.

“We designed and developed a range exclusively using the Livaeco fabric, enriched with Birla Modal,” Nayak told Vogue India about the collection.

Its title, Bloom, references Nayak’s belief that our natural state is to bloom, a hopeful message during trying times. The message of hope is also seen in the collection’s use of whimsical prints, bright accents, and playful silhouettes.

“Drawing lessons from this current pandemic, we wanted to create a collection that narrates the story of hope and positivity,” said Nayak.

“Leaving the gloomy parts behind, this collection celebrates that feeling of spring. We specifically chose Livaeco fabrics for their luxurious soft texture, comfort, fluidity and eco-enhanced characteristics.”

The pandemic saw sustainable and eco-friendly fashion further rise in popularity in India as the government urged shoppers to shop local and brands launched more conscious collections. The pandemic has thus, despite its challenges, sped up India’s journey towards a more sustainable fashion industry.
