Rhea Kapoor launches first footwear line with The Cai Store

Celebrity stylist Rhea Kapoor has joined forces with vegan footwear brand The Cai Store to launch her first ever footwear line with a collection named ‘Self Portrait: Tired and Fabulous’.

“It’s a myth that you can have it all without any collateral damage,” Kapoor told Vogue India, about the inspiration behind her new collection.

“We are always in this relentless pursuit of having it all with a smile on our faces. But it’s important to acknowledge that ‘having it all’ comes at a price which is being spent and exhausted as you (ironically) focus on everything but yourself. We should celebrate that the pursuit can sometimes exhaust us, and that’s ok. But we don’t need to suffer either. It’s 2021, and you can sit back and think about how you can make life comfortable. That’s how this collection was born.” 

The collection features a wide range of casual and formal styles including heels, platforms, mules, boots, and flats with gold and pearl detailing. With a diverse colour palette of neutrals and pops of colour, the full ‘Rhea for Cai’ line has launched on The Cai Store’s e-commerce site, the brand announced on Facebook. 
 
“We wanted to work with someone who truly understood fashion,” Aradhana Minawala told Vogue India, about her partnership with Kapoor. 

“Rhea had a clear vision of what she wanted. The theme was always androgynous. And since the collection is for the everyday woman who doesn't have the time or patience to be uncomfortable, fit and comfort were the decisive factors in greenlighting every new sample for the line.”
