Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) recently launched polyester brand RElan and is looking to partner with international and national apparel companies to expand its presence in the country’s booming apparel market, said a top company official.

India’s largest conglomerate RIL’s polyester division had launched RElan last month with an aim to provide fabrics to the fashion brands in the country. The brand had signed agreements with leading Indian companies from across the country to create active wear range of products.
Now with eyes on retail expansion in India and abroad, RElan is planning to collaborate with leading companies wherein the brand will provide the fibre and filament yarn to brands for producing products in different categories like denim, ethnic wear, formal wear among many others.
RIL has already signed an agreement with US-based VF Corporation, owner of the Wrangler brand and plans similar partnerships with more brands in the coming months.
"We are taking the high quality and high performance products to the consumers in tie-up with the brands. We have identified certain products," a Reliance Industries spokesperson was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
"We have already tied up with VF Corporation, which would be launching Wrangler Jeans under our fibre. They would be launching in India and Asia Pacific markets," he said adding, "We are also in advance discussions with five more brands and in times to come, we would be tying up with many more."
