Kering-owned, Spanish-founded luxury brand Balenciaga’s clothing and accessories could soon be available to shop in-person in Delhi. Reliance Brands announced that it had signed a long-term franchisee agreement with luxury group Kering to retail Balenciaga products in India in August this year and is now looking to open its first brick-and-mortar store for the label, two anonymous sources told India Retailing.

Reliance Brands is Reliance Retail’s business which focuses on luxury offerings. The business had already signed an agreement to retail Kering-owned Bottega Veneta products in India.

DLF Emporio is located in the capital’s premium shopping district Vasant Kunj and houses a wide range of brands including Burberry, Cartier, Dior, Omega, Paul Smith, and Tod’s among others, according to its website. The Balenciaga store launch would follow on from Reliance Brands opening its first brick-and-mortar store for Valentino in India within the mall this autumn.

Balenciaga has recently been embroiled in controversy surrounding imagery and props used in one of its latest advertising campaigns. The adverts, promoting Balenciaga’s Spring 2023 activewear collection in collaboration with Adidas, have since been removed from the brand’s website.
