Relaxo partners with Salman Khan for television ad campaign
Footwear brand Relaxo has partnered with Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan to launch a new television advertising campaign titled ‘Mazbooti Bemisaal’ for its signature slippers.
After eight years off-air, Relaxo has returned to television with its new campaign dedicated to its signature rubber slippers, the brand announced in a press release on June 4. The television commercial sees Khan demonstrate the brand’s wide array of colourful ‘Hawaii’ slippers and present them as a durable product as he plays a shopkeeper in the light-hearted commercial.
“Relaxo is a household name today,” said the brand’s executive director of sales and marketing Gaurav Dua in a press release. “With his mass appeal megastar Salman Khan resonates well with our brand ethos and is most suited to convey the brand USP of ‘Mazbooti Bemisaal’.”
Although closed-toe and formal shoes have see demand suffer during the pandemic, people spending increased time at home has seen slippers increase in popularity. Relaxo’s financial results for the fourth quarter of the 2021 financial year ,which ended in March attest to this as the business’ net profit rose by 97% and revenue rose by 38% year-on-year. Relaxo retails from exclusive-brand outlets across India and sells under brands Sparx, Flite, and Bahamas.
