Raymond's lifestyle CEO steps down

On July 5, textile and clothing business Raymond announced that its lifestyle business CEO Joe Kuruvilla has stepped down from the role.

Kuruvilla has decided to leave Raymond lifestyle after joining the business in October 2020, Livemint reported. Citing personal reasons, Kuruvilla will leave his role at the business after an eight-month stretch and Raymond will start the process of appointing a new CEO.
“While the company is in the process to appoint a new CEO, Kuruvilla will do the formalities of seamless handover to Ganeshkumar S. who continues as chief operating officer for the lifestyle business of the company,” said Raymond in a regulatory filing on Monday, the Press Trust of India reported.
Prior to joining Raymond, Kuruvilla worked for Unilever PLC including for its European operations. Kuruvilla’s appointment at Raymond was described as part of the business’ “refreshed approach,” to its lifestyle business, Raymond Limited’s chairman and managing director Gautam Hari Singhania said at the time.
Singhania had also called Kuruvilla’s appointment, “an exciting development and in line with our commitment to invest in global talent to enhance the scale of our business.”
Raymond lifestyle retails branded textiles, branded apparel, and garments through a range of subsidiary brands. The business also retails furniture and upholstery fabrics.
