Raymond Ltd partners with ‘Sui Dhaaga’ movie to promote skill development

Textile and apparel major Raymond has partnered with Bollywood flick ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made In India’ starring actors Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s to give a fillip to skill development and entrepreneurship in rural India.
The movie highlights the initiative started by Raymond to bring about a real-life socio-economic change by providing employment and necessary support to artisans and weavers from rural India.
Speaking about the association, Sanjay Behl, CEO, Lifestyle Business, Raymond Ltd in a statement said, “An initiative of Raymond to develop a sustainable tailoring ecosystem ensures economic prosperity and social dignity of the profession rings true to the theme of the film. With a vision to train over one lakh tailors by the end of 2020 through our initiative, the seamless brand integration with ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made in India’ is an apt fitment for us.”
“With our commitment to Make in India, and in line with the Skill India Initiative, Raymond is already working towards up-skilling the existing tailoring ecosystem in the country by upgrading technology and providing employability on a sustainable basis,” he added.
Raymond had recently announced that it will open 15 standalone retail outlets for its brand Ethnix, which produces a wide range of ethnic wear using a number of handloom textiles that are created by weavers from rural India through the skill India initiatives.
