Rana Daggubati, Anthill Ventures invest in skincare brand Pulp

Skincare brand Pulp has raised an undisclosed amount from Anthill ventures along, with actor Rana Daggubati.

The brand that started with just two masks in March 2020 has already made inroads in the country’s skincare market within a short span of two years.

With this investment, it aims to further strengthen its base in the Indian market and diversify its portfolio to cater to a wider audience.

Commenting on the Goutham Uppaluri and Deepti Alapati, co-founder at Pulp in a joint statement said, “From being the first brand in India to launch lifestyle-based superfood skincare products to defying the traditional standards of Indian skincare, our idea has always been to make skincare less intimidating and a little less boring. Additionally, the love that we get showered in by our customers is the fuel that drives us to keep doing what we do, before, now, and next.”

Rana Daggubati added, “We are inspired by the creativity demonstrated by Pulp. They have the potential to alter product innovation radically in the D2C urban lifestyle space. We look forward to accelerating their growth with direct market access and live projects.”

Founded by the duo of Goutham Uppaluri and Deepti Alapati in Hyderabad, the direct-to-consumer start-up currently has about 11 SKUs priced between Rs 400 ($5) to Rs 1200. It competes with brands like Skinella, Tribe Concepts, and SkinKraft, among others.
