On March 15, Rahul Singh showed his latest collection at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi as part of the capital’s ongoing fashion week. AIFW, which will run until March 18, saw Singh present a collection that mixed neutral hues with bright red, mustard yellow, and pale blue and was a fun, modern take on ethnic wear influences.

Abstract prints, checks, thin stripes, and brush stroke like prints all made their way into the collection that was eclectic in its use of textiles but kept it smart with its clean shapes. Floaty floor length skirts were paired with tailored coats and jackets and embellishments included fringing, laser cut-outs, and embroidery.

Accessories included coin belts, heels and sandals, tote bags, and statement ethnic necklaces in a variety of colours. The accessory choices, mixed with the models’ natural make up and simple braided hairstyle, gave the collection a wearable feel.

Rahul Singh graduated with a postgraduate degree from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) New Delhi after which he went on to work as a freelance designer and movie stylist. Singh made his fashion week debut in autumn/ winter 2010 and last year showed in Bengaluru. Singh’s designs are available at a number of multi-brand online and offline boutiques in India.
