Rahul Mishra partners with Zoya for upcoming Paris Fashion Week show

Mishra will show his upcoming ready-to-wear collection at Paris Fashion Week on September 28 and, this season, the Delhi-based designer has partnered with Zoya for the first time. Mishra’s upcoming collection is inspired by Metropolis II and how we interact with metropolitan landscapes.
“We are looking at a completely new avatar of embroidery,” Mishra told Indo- Asian News Service in an interview. “People have always thought of embroideries as age old techniques that are lost in time. We are making a fiercely modern version of hand embroideries and that is what is really exciting about this collection.”
Along with experimental, shape-shifting embroidery, the collection will feature contrasts between stiff and fluid textiles and include fabrics such as organza, cotton, and silk. Zoya has curated a selection of fine jewellery to pair with Mishra’s designs.
“This collaboration completes the look based on style for the runway,” said Mishra. “I am very excited about this collaboration. I have always liked the brand and it is true to its design philosophy.”
Rahul Mishra made his fashion week debut in 2006 at Lakme Fashion Week and was the first Indian designer to win the International Woolmark Prize in 2014. Mishra also showed a collection at Paris Haute Couture Week in July.
