Rahul Mehta has been unanimously re-elected as president of the Mumbai-based Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) by the newly elected managing committee for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20.

The election for the managing committee, as well as the regional committees, was held immediately after the 55th annual general meeting (AGM) of CMAI.

Electing Mehta for the 7th term as president, the newly-elected members of the managing committee placed on record his yeoman services and achievements of CMAI during his tenure.

During the last 12 years under Mehta’s leadership, CMAI has not only attained greater heights and recognition, but also increased the association’s services to its members. This has been made possible due to Mehta’s able stewardship and close liaison with the Government of India, including the ministry of textiles, the ministry of finance, and other government organisations and institutions, CMAI said in a press release.

While thanking the members of the managing committee for having reposed confidence in him, Mehta assured that he will continue to do his best in the service of the apparel industry.

Besides Mehta, the new team of CMAI office bearers comprises: Rakesh Biyani of Future Group (vice president), Rajesh Masand of Gambit Clothing (vice president), Babubhai Ayar of Challenge Enterprises (honorary general secretary), Jayesh Shah of M Square Clothing (India) (joint honorary general secretary), Rohit Munjal of RS Enterprises (honorary treasurer), Ankur Gadia of Vinita Synthetic India (joint honorary treasurer), Ashok Shah of Jeaneration Clothing (special invitee), and Premal Udani of Kaytee Corporation (immediate past president).
