On January 10, Raghavendra Rathore opened a new flagship store in Ahmedabad, his first in the city, for his tailored men’s and womenswear, the designer announced on Facebook. The launch was attended by an array of celebrities including actor Nimrat Kaur. The store houses Rathore’s tailored men’s suits, footwear, and women’s embellished traditional wear among other items.

“It is said that style is inherent, but designers like Raghavendra Rathore have managed to go beyond fashion to seed ‘individual style’ for his clientele, a task not possible without the love for what the brand stands for and creates,” said Kaur at the store opening, the brand announced on Facebook. “My best wishes to the world’s best Bandhgala makers for their store in Ahemdabad.”

The designer is also preparing to launch a womenswear collection of Bandhgalas to mix his signature refined take on Indian tradition with inspiration from brands including  Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan, and Bill Blass, Rathore told Elle India. The collection will commemorate Rathore’s quarter century in fashion and the bespoke collection will be available across Rathore’s India flagship stores as well as online.

Raghavendra Rathore, a member of the Jodhpur royal family, launched his eponymous brand after studying at New York’s Parsons School of Design. The designer partnered with luxury Italian fashion house Ermenegildo Zegna in April 2019 to expand his textile offerings.
