Raas the Global Naari showcases womenswear collection during New York Fashion Week

Womenswear brand Raas the Global Naari presented its latest collection on the runway at South Asian New York Fashion Week in the US on September 10. Indian-American actress Richa Moorjani closed the show as the brand’s showstopper in a bright mirror-work set. 

Raas the Global Naari launched new collection ‘Ezora’ with a flurry of colours and heritage craft techniques, the brand announced in a press release. The collection was inspired by traditional art from Gujarat and was designed to blend Indian and western culture and silhouettes. 
 
“Its range Ezora captures the timeless allure of two distinct cultures intertwining to create a collection that transcends boundaries and celebrates the harmonious fusion of western silhouettes with the state of Gujarat’s artistic soul,” announced the brand in a press release. “The ‘Ez’ in Ezora signifies the effortlessness with which these two worlds come together, while the ‘Ora’ element is reminiscent of the ethereal beauty of an aurora, symbolising the radiant brilliance that emanates from this collection.”

Notable looks in the collection included full lehenga skirts with bralet style tops and floaty layers with a bohemian feel. The collection’s colour palette featured bright hues of blue, purple, and gold as well as deep tones of black and maroon. 
 
Shreya Patel launched Raas the Global Naari in 2020 and oversees the brand’s designing and manufacturing process. Patel also works with her daughter Axi Patel, who leads the brand’s marketing initiatives.
