Purva Couture presented an ornate and traditionally regal take on occasion wear on the runway at Ahmedabad Times Fashion Week to celebrate Gujarat’s traditional craftsmanship.

The collection featured soft blush pink and ivory white hues for both men and women with other pastel hues and deep crimson looks also making an appearance, the brand announced on Facebook. Heavy embroidery contrasted the collection’s delicate colour palette and motifs including flowers, geometrical designs, and elephants adorned voluminous lehengas.

This season, the collection also included a number of bridal looks for the upcoming wedding season. Each garment in the collection was entirely handmade by the brand’s team of artisans in Gujarat.

“I am delighted to have been able to participate in a show as prestigious as Ahmedabad Fashion Week,” said Purva Couture’s founder Purva Patel, Asian News International reported. “Our team of designers has worked very hard to present the collection. It took days of planning and replanning to come up with the perfect line-up. I am extremely proud of what we have been able to present at the fashion week.”

Purva Patel launched Purva Couture in 2013 and the brand retails from its e-commerce store and brick-and-mortar outlet. The brand offers a made-to-measure bridal service and couture consultations.
