Pure London left mostly unharmed by UK riots

Pure London’s organisers could have predicted anything but this: the British trade show took place right in the middle of the violent riots that sprung up in the capital over the last few days. The fair’s third and final day saw a 3% decrease in attendance rate, but that proved not to have a huge negative impact as Pure London still reported a 13% growth in the total number of people present at its just-ended edition.

The event took place over the course of three days, from August 7-9 at Olympia London. Nearly 600 exhibitors and a total of 1,100 collections were present. The organisers announced a 3% increase in the number of international visitors, coming from Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia and the United States. Around 70 different nationalities were said to be represented at the fair.

The trade show’s next edition is scheduled for February 12th to 14th 2012, at Olympia London as usual. Until then, industry professionals can look forward to the launch of the group’s new trade show called Pure Close to Season. It will be dedicated to late orders from the Autumn 2011 collections, as well as give people a peek into the new products coming out for the Spring/Summer 2012 season. This new trade show will also take place at Olympia London, from October 23 to 24.
