Chief minister of India’s Punjab state Bhagwant Mann recently offered 1,000 acres of land in Fatehgarh Sahib district to the central government for setting up a textile park under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Parks scheme. He wrote a letter to union textile minister Piyush Goyal in this regard, saying land has been identified for the project.

The aim is to put the state on the orbit of a high growth industrial growth trajectory and generate employment, Indian media reports said.

All environmental clearances and norms as fixed by the central and state pollution control boards will be adhered to, Mann assured in his letter.
