Pune Fashion Week runs seventh season

Pune is gearing up for their seventh luxury fashion week which will run from December 22 to 24 in the city.

The upcoming Pune Fashion Week will feature an array of runway shows of both men’s and womenswear, a Gen Next show, a charity show for the Smile Foundation, and many other events. The fashion week will conclude on Sunday with Nivedita Saboo who will show a “Superhero Collection” and close the event.

The INIFD (International Institute of Fashion Design) will present their Gen Next show featuring students from their Pune College on December 22 to start off the event. Other designers that will show on day one inclide Rina Dhaka, Sharad Raghav, and Ginni Wadhwa.

Day two of the three day event will start off with an ISAS hair, makeup, and beauty show and also include designers Ashok Maanay, Gulam Ali, and Amin Farista, among others. Day three will include a plus size collection entitled “Self Love” by Nishita Mantry Gupta, a variety of runway shows, and the event’s final collection by Nivedita Saboo.

The fashion week is scheduled to take place at the Pyramid Lawns in Koregaon Park in Pune. A Luxury Expo will accompany the runway shows as well as a selection of workshops, some of which are open to the public. Pune Fashion Week began in 2011 and since then enjoyed six seasons. This seventh season aims to capture the essence of Bharat and its interplay with global fashion.
