Sportswear brand Puma plans to open four to five more experience centre stores in India in the coming 12 to 18 months, and focus on its children’s wear offerings.

Cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune are soon expected to launch Puma experience centre stores, the brand’s India managing director, Abhishek Ganguly, told India Retailing.

The brand recently opened its largest flagship experience centre store in India in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar district. This was Puma’s second experience centre store after opening its first in New York.

“We believe that experience is the biggest proposition for offline retail as much as convenience is a key to online,” Ganguly told India Retailing.

“The futuristic retail environment is focused on creating an immersive experience by engaging the consumer throughout their shopping journey… We are committed to providing the best of digital and personalised shopping experiences across all platforms.”

The brand also aims to increase its focus on children’s wear, a fast growing product category in India. Children’s wear currently represents 7% of Puma India’s total revenue.

The brand has reported 40% growth in winter sales in the north of India.

“A part of this is a result of rising sales of jackets and sweatshirts,” Ganguly told TNN, featured in its report on rising winter clothing sales driven by especially cold weather.
