Puma launches special collector’s edition of One8 cricket shoes

​Sportswear major Puma has launched a special collector’s edition of One8 cricket shoes as part of its tribute to Indian cricket team captain and its brand ambassador Virat Kohli.
 

Kohli will be sporting these new shoes during the upcoming edition of the cricket world cup in the UK. The shoe design features Kohli’s favorite color - white, fused with accents of gold.

The limited edition collection will have just 150 pieces and the first pair from the 150 will be auctioned at the inaugural edition of the Indian Cricket Heroes event in London later this month.

Commenting on the new collection, Abhishek Ganguly, managing director, Puma India in a statement said: “Puma celebrates Virat’s sportsmanship as he shoulders the nation’s expectations for the upcoming international cricketing tournament with his captaincy. Exclusively made for Virat, the colour gold synonymous with victory will make an entry onto cricket pitch for the very first time. With just 150 pairs available globally, these limited-edition shoes are a must-have for collectors.”
 
Sharing his reaction to this tribute, Virat Kohli added, “I am humbled to receive this special treatment from my Puma family. With a very important tournament ahead of us, I’m excited to take the field in Puma’s custom-made golden shoe.”
 
The shoes have been priced at Rs 19,999 ($286) and will be available at select Puma stores across India. They will also be sold on Puma’s website and e-commerce platforms Myntra and Flipkart.
 
Puma previously collaborated with Kohli in 2017 to launch the One8 athleisure brand. The brand reported sales of Rs 100 crore in the first year since its launch with Puma.
