Puma launches new range at Mumbai’s Khar Social

Puma launched its new RS-X sneaker range at Khar Social in Mumbai on Saturday. The launch event welcomed an array of celebrity guests and included music performances and art displays.

The new Puma RS (Running System) line, RS-X, launched at the weekend at a lively event in Mumbai.

The new sneaker line will have multiple drops throughout the year and sees the Puma RS which, according to the brand’s press release is “inspired by sport, but made for the street.”

“The RS-X tells stories of reinvention to the extreme with its bulky design, material mixes, and bold color palette,” the brand said in a press release. ”

The Khar Social venue was transformed for the Puma launch event and the walls were covered in RS-X art and neon displays. The theme was “retro futurism”and “old meets new”, according to the brand’s press release. Gaming consoles were also included for guests to enjoy and to epitomise the retro technology of the RS-X range. The brand described the event as “a unique movement in sneaker culture.”

The event also featured augmented reality photo booths, projections, and retro games such as a claw machine filled with Hot Wheels toy cars and a DDR music video game. RS-X shoes customised by the artists Priyesh Trivedi a.k.a Adash Balak, Nishaant Fogaat, Tejas Niar, and Big Fat Minimalist- Anniruddh Meht were displayed in audio-visual capsules throughout the venue. 

Live music performances by Major C followed by Aniruddh  and Tejas accompanied specially made videos that featured Pac-Man and other '80s classics to celebrate the original Puma RS range of the decade. The event concluded promising more collaborations and launches in the near future.
