Sportswear brand Puma has announced that it is working on ameliorating its e-commerce customer experience for shopping on computers, tablets, and mobile phones with the aim of on-boarding more online customers, ET Bureau reported.

With ongoing restrictions on brick-and-mortar retail in some locations, and shoppers preferring to stay at home as the pandemic continues, e-commerce has further increased in popularity across India in recent months, and many brands are looking to go beyond the traditional concept of an online store, to offer more engaging shopping experiences.

“E-commerce has always been a big priority for us at Puma and we embarked on this journey many years ago,” said Puma India’s associate director and head of business to customer e-commerce, Jackson Fernandez, ET Bureau reported.

“In the current situation, online is of course a more convenient option for consumers to shop. The new normal has also catapulted the number of first-time online shoppers.”

The business, which first entered the Indian market in 2006, has a dedicated Indian e-commerce store to cater to the market. The e-commerce store features country-specific promotions, such as its ongoing selection of deals for the upcoming festival of Diwali.
