Puma India elevates Abhishek Ganguly to general manager Southeast Asia, India

​German sportswear brand Puma has elevated its India managing director Abhishek Ganguly to the post of general manager, Southeast Asia and India.

Ganguly will continue to work out of the company’s India head office in Bengaluru and will have the additional responsibility of overseeing 11 key markets in Southeast Asia including Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Philippines.
 
Ganguly had joined Puma India as director, sales and marketing in 2006. Over the years, he has worked across different verticals at the organisation in key leadership roles.

“These (new) markets are all growth markets, and some are very developed. I have an understanding of how our brand has done well in our market, and these new markets will mean new learnings," Ganguly told the Mint.
 
Puma has 360 stores across 120 cities and is present across e-commerce platforms in India. It had reported a revenue total of Rs 1,413 crore ($212.4 million) in India in the financial year 2019.
