French apparel brand Promod has opened its first “E-origin” store in India in Mumbai’s Palladium Mall. The brand plans to open more E-origin stores in Delhi NCR, Lucknow, and Bengaluru and convert all existing stores by 2025.
The new store is designed to create a new retail experience for Promod customers and features technology such as digital tablets which are connected to large display screens and ample open space. The 1,700 square foot store also has an open façade which is designed to increase consumer footfall.
“We are now planning to launch 10 more E-origin stores by 2021 and by 2025 we plan to convert all the existing stores into E-origin format,” president of Promod’s India franchisee Major Brands India, Tushar Ved, told IndiaRetailing in an interview. “The retail environment is changing across the world and it is important to adopt and revamp the brand to connect with our target customers. The brand journey ahead is going to get very interesting.”
The brand plans to have 100 points of sale in India by 2025 and has earmarked an investment of Rs 50 crore ($7.5 million) for the project. “Due to an increase in the purchasing power and awareness among Tier II and Tier III, we are moving towards catering to their requirements as well,” said Ved.
