The New York Fashion Week exodus continues. Proenza Schouler is the latest fashion label to leave the NYFW schedule for Paris Fashion Week. According to the press, the American fashion label will show spring 2018 in Paris after years of showing at NYFW.

Despite the move, Proenza Schouler will remain on the schedule of this upcoming NYFW in February. In addition, designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough decided to combine the Proenza Schouler runway collections and pre-collections in order to show twice a year.

Proenza Schouler has been a bright spot for New York City fashion since 2002. The New York City-based brand has been nominated for numerous CFDA awards and has won five including the Swarovski Award for Ready to Wear, Accessory Designer of the Year, and Womenswear Designer of the Year three times in 2007, 2011 and 2013. In 2015, the duo sold a minority stake of the brand to Castanea Partners, joining other investors including Theory CEO, Andrew Rosen.

Prior to the announcement, Rodarte announced that it will skip NYFW this season in favor of Paris in March. Founding sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy will show the fall 2017 collection in an intimate presentation for buyers and press, and they will hold the Rodarte runway show during couture week in January and July. The Rodarte spring 2018 collection will also show in Paris.

Proenza Schouler currently operates 10 freestanding stores in New York City, Seoul, Bangkok, Taipei City, Singapore, Guam and Macau.
